Dr. Qin Yin obtained his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan Normal University in 2009. Then he started his graduate study at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, CAS under the supervision of Prof Shuli You, where his research focused on asymmetric catalysis. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 2014, he joined Prof. Martin Oestreich’s group at TU Berlin as a postdoctoral researcher under the support of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, where his research focuses on main-group element chemistry. In June. 2017, Dr. Yin joined Southern University of Science and Technology as an research associate professor to start his research career.

      Qin was an awardee of prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Foundation from 2015-2017. He has so far published 23 pieces of peer-reviewed papers as the corresponding or first author, including high impact journals like Chem. Soc. Rev., JACS (2), Angew (5), ACS Catal, Chem. Sci. (3). In the last 3 years, he has been awarded 5 research funds (closed to 3 million RMB in total), includes two pieces from NSFC. In 2020, he had been awarded the “Outstanding Youth Fund” of Guangdong Provincial Natural Science fund.
