Research Associate Professor

Dr. Wu is currently a research associate professor in SUSTech. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Tokyo in March 2013. After that, he worked as a research fellow in the University of Tokyo for one year and jointed Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology & Engineering (NIMTE), CAS since April 2014 as a assistant professor, and was promoted to an associate professor from September 2016. In November 2018, He jointed SUSTech as a research associate professor. His research interest includes the thin film growth by vacuum technologies and its applications on the energy devices. He participated strongly in the development of the mesoplasma CVD technique in his doctoral study and developed a new mesoplasma system in NIMTE. So far, He pulished more than 40 journal papers and applied more than 10 patents, and was received the Marubun Research Promotion Foundation Exchange Research Grant Award in 2011.

Dr. Wu’s research interest includes plasma materials engineering, thin film growth and energy device fabrication. His specialty lies in the controllable growth of thin films and nanomaterials based on plasma and other vacuum technologies. The materials he studied includes semiconductor films, optical films, super-hard films, vertically orientated graphene nanosheets, diamond, etc. Applications include optoelectronic devices, energy storage devices and sensors, etc.

Dr. Wu is mainly engaged in the research on the thin film growth and its application on energy devices, especially in the plasma technology for the thin film growth application. He was led the development of the first mesoplasma CVD system in China and pulished more than 30 SCI papers in Advanced Functional Materials, Energy Storage Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Nature Communication, ACS Nano, Carbon, Science and Technology of Advanced Materials, Applied Physics Express, Plasma Chemistry and Plasma Processing, and other international famous journals.
