Associate Professor Department of Chemistry
Joelle received her M.Sc. from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (Professor Weisheng Tian) in 2005, and completed her Ph.D. in 2009 under the supervision of Professor Albert S. C. Chan at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After postdoctoral research in Professor Jef DeBrabander’s group at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, she took up the position of research assistant professor at Hong Kong Baptist University in early 2011. She Joined Southern University of Science and Technology in 2012 as assistant professor, and she is currently an associate professor at SUSTech.
Personal Profile
Joelle joined the Department of Chemistry in June 2012 as a tenure-track assistant professor and became a tenured associate professor in August 2019. Her research focused on the Asymmetric Synthesis, Synthetic Methodology, Chinese Medicine and Medicinal Chemistry.

Since joining the Southern University of Science and Technology, She has published 27 SCI papers as a corresponding author in high quantity chemistry journals, including Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (1), ACS Catalysis (1)、Nature Communicatio. (1), Org. Lett. (4),Chem. Commun. (2),Chem. Eur. J. (1),Adv. Synth. Catal. (1) and so on. Among them, six papers were collected by Nature Index, five publications were elected as front or back cover articles, and five peer-reviewed papers were highlighted by Synfacts. She has filed one US patent and two Chinese patents. Meanwhile, she also works as the review for several world-renown chemistry journals, such as Org. Lett., Chem. Commun., Chem. Eur. J., Adv. Synth. Catal.,Chem. Asian. J.,Org. Chem. Frontier and so on.
