Research Assistant Professor School of Environmental Science and Engineering
Dr. Tian received a B.S. in water resources and hydropower engineering from Wuhan University, and a Ph.D. in system analysis and integration from the Huazhong University of Science & Technology. Currently he holds the position of research assistant professor. Prior to his current position, he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Institute of Water Sciences at Peking University. His research interests include surface water-groundwater modeling, numerical simulation of hydrodynamics and water quality, environmental information science and scientific visualization, and GIS/RS applications in hydrology and water resources. He has excellent computer/programming skills, and has developed many systems and tools specialized for water resources management, 3D scientific visualization and visual modeling. Dr. Tian has published more than 20 peer-reviewed SCI papers on leading water resources and environmental software journals, such as Water Resources Research and Environmental Modelling & Software, JGR-Atmosphere, Computers & Geosciences and Stoch Environ Res Risk Assess. He also served as a journal reviewer for almost 10 SCI journals.
