Rui Ma focuses on application specific sampling structure designe of sensing system. The sampling efficiency, target recognition and tracking accuracy are improved by software-hardware co-design of the sampling structure and corresponding algorithms. Human motion recognition with single or few pixel thermal sensors is achieved by using compressive sensing and neural networks. High accuracy 3D imaging based on mobile structure light system is achieved by estimating the phase change in motions. He has published several papers on reputable international journals and conference proceedings.
