Synthesizing 1D wires with diameters tunable from microns to single-atom and printing 3D nanostructures.

Investigating mechanism of ion transport through single ion channels.

Developing new technologies to directly probe and image chemical/biological processes from individual molecules, nanostructures to living cells.
