Associate Professor Department of Chemistry
You-Yun Zhou obtained his B.S. (Polymer Materials and Engineering ) from Hefei University of Technology in 2006 and Ph.D. (Organic Chemistry) from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Yong Tang and Xiu-Li Sun in 2012. He then joined in Zhejiang NHU Special Materials Co., Ltd. as a project director. Later in 2013, he moved to Purdue University to start his postdoctoral research in Prof. Uyeda's group. From February 2019, he started to work at Southern University of Science and Technology as a Research associate Professor in Professor Tang’s group. In May 2021, he built his own research group to start his independent research career.

His research involves developing novel ligands and multinuclear complexes to activate inert bonds and catalyze organic reactions. The reserch results have been published in several peer-reviewed journals including Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. Inorg. Chem., most of which are highlighted by Science、C&NS、Synfacts.
