Fengfeng Zheng

Research associate professor Advanced Institute for Ocean Research

My research field is marine biogeochemistry and geomicrobiology of archaea using non-targeted high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) and interdisciplinary approaches, including stable isotopic probe labeling (SIP) to study: 1) Distribution and biological sources of archaeal and bacterial GDGTs biomarkers in lake, soil, and oceanic environments; 2) Development of analytical methodologies for non-targeted archaeal lipidomics based on high-resolution mass spectrometry, e.g., construction of a database of archaeal lipids; 3) Chemotaxonomic and palaeoecological application of archaeal lipids. I has been granted two projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has participated in several provincial and municipal research projects.
