Ming-Hua Xu

Professor Department of Chemistry

Ming-Hua Xu was born in Zhejiang province, China. He received his master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from East China Normal University in 1996. In the same year, he started his PhD under the supervision of Professor Guo-Qiang Lin at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Following postdoctoral research at the University of Virginia (with Prof. Lin Pu) and Georgetown University Medical Center (with Prof. Alan. P. Kozikowski), he joined the faculty at SIOC as an associate professor in 2003. He has been a full professor at Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2005. In 2018, he was invited to become a professor in Chemistry at Southern University of Science and Technology. He is also a joint Professor of Shenzhen Grubbs Institute. His research interests mainly involve asymmetric synthesis, new chiral ligands/catalysts design, and small molecule drug research and discovery.
