Kai Wang, Ph.D., is currently a Professor of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). His research focuses on quantum dot optoelectronic devices and their applications in displays, opto-information and optical interconnect. He has published more than 200 articles on academic journals with h-index of 55 and an academic book. His research achievement is awarded the National Award for Technological Invention and the National Ministry of Education Award for Technological Innovation. He is the recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Scholar, Guangdong Province Distinguished Youth Scholar and also is selected as the World's Top 2% Scientists identified by Stanford University.

Personal Profile

Dr. Kai Wang, is currently a Professor in the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), China. He obtained his B.Sc and Ph.D. degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2006 and 2011 respectively. He was the vice president of Guangdong Real Faith Optoelectronics Co. Ltd from 2011 to 2013. Then he joined in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of SUSTech in 2013. His research focuses on quantum dot optoelectronic devices and their applications in displays, opto-information and optical interconnect. He has published over 200 SCI journal papers, which have been cited over 10000 times with an H-Index of 56, and 1 academic book, and authorized 64 granted invention patents in China and 4 in USA. His research achievements are awarded the second prize of the National Technological Invention Award of the P. R. China in 2016, the first prize of the National Ministry of Education Technological Invention Award of the P. R. China in 2016, the first prize of the Natural Science Award of Hubei Province in 2015 and the second prize of the Natural Science Award of Guangdong Province in 2022. He is the recipient of the Guangdong Science and Technology Innovation Youth Talent, Guangdong Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar and World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University.

He is currently a member of IEEE, IEEE Photonics Society and IEEE Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology Society. And he also is a committee member of the IEEE Photonics Society Guangdong Chapter, IEEE Beijing Section Nanotechnology Council Guangdong Chapter and OSA Shenzhen Local Section, a committee member of the National Flat Panel Display Technical Committee for Standardization, and the deputy director of the Shenzhen Key Laboratory for Quantum Dots based Advanced Display and Lighting. He is a guest editor of Nanomaterials. He serves as a reviewer of more than 30 journals.
