A BREIF INTRODUCTION OF PI

Dr. He is an associate professor in SUSTECH with ability to surprise PhD students. The thrust of his research focuses on the alloying and microstructural design, strengthening mechanisms and mechanical properties of varied structural materials such as advanced high strength steels, with an in-depth understanding on the strengthening mechanisms in ultra-strong metallic materials. Specifically, Dr. He has published a research paper in SCIENCE journal in 2017, which reports a completely new alloy design strategy for ultra-high strength steels, enabling an ultrahigh yield strength of 2.2GPa and a large uniform elongation of 16%. Consequently, this research work has been reported by 200+ media and newspapers outlets, including the one in Dragon TV with a title of “A breakthrough supersteel made by Chinese scientists”. In addition, Dr. He has a good research background in advanced high strength steels such as TRIP steel, medium Mn steel and Q&P steel, and is also interested in nano-mechanical behavior of steels. Dr. He has published 70+ journal papers, receiving a total citation of 2300+ and h index of 25. Dr. He is  a reviewer for several international journals. Dr. He has received several important awards, including the TechConnect Global Innovation Awards 2018, HKU Research Output Prize 2018, Mechanical Engineering Outstanding Thesis Award.
