The Symposium on "Noisy Imaging and Intensive Observation Observations and Continental Dynamics" organized by our department was successfully held
From January 27 to January 28, 2018, the Symposium on Noise Imaging and Intensive Microarray Observation and Continental Dynamics was successfully held in our university. The meeting was hosted by the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, Continental Dynamics Professional Committee. , Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The seminar attracted researchers from Peking University, China University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, China University of Geosciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, China University of Petroleum, China Earthquake Administration, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute, Chang'an University, Changjiang University, Chengdu University of Technology, Guilin University of Technology, and about 130 universities and research institutes Research scholars, including the famous geophysicist Shi Yaolin and academician Yao Zhenxing attended the conference. Prof. Chen Yongshun, Director of the Department of Oceanography, Prof. Chen Xiaofei, Academician of the Department of Earth and Space Sciences, and Prof. Zhang Wei, deputy directors, attended the symposium. The meeting was chaired by Professor Guo Zhen, Assistant Professor of the Department of Oceanography. Zhao Yousheng, Minister of Scientific Research of the University attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school.

The development of noise imaging and dense array observation methods in recent years is an important change in seismological observation technology. At present, noise imaging and dense array observations have been widely used in microseismic monitoring, fine structure of volcanic regions, spatial distribution of fault zones, and continental dynamics. Scholars at home and abroad have carried out a large amount of research work in this area, especially the report presented at this meeting shows that breakthroughs have been made in basic theory and observation applications.
The two-day seminar provided a platform for sharing and communication among scholars of seismology across the country, promoting the theoretical research, methodological innovations of noise imaging and dense array detection technologies, and the detection of fine structures in crust and mantle. The application of research will also help the development of basic scientific research such as geophysics and continental dynamics in China.
