Professor Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering
Wei Hong, Ph.D., Fellow of ASME, is currently Professor of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where he also holds the positions of the Director of SUSTech Global and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of Shuli College. Dr. Wei Hong received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tsinghua University, and his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2006. Before joining SUSTech in 2018, He was a Associate Professor (with tenure) at Iowa State University. He also held joint appointment from Hokkaido University as Associate Professor and later as Professor. Dr. Hong’s research interest spans over various areas of solid mechanics.
