Research Assistant Professor Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences

Dr. Jingying Zhai obtained her B.S. degree in chemistry from Suzhou University of Science and Technology, China in 2010 and M.S. degree from Nanjing University in 2013. Then she joined Prof. Eric Bakker’s group and received her Ph.D degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, 2017. In November 2017, she joined the Chemistry Department at SUSTech as research associate, and in February 2019, she was promoted to research assistant professor in the Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies at SUStech. Her research interests include the development of the novel optical and electrochemistry sensors and their application in biology, environmental sciences, and clinical diagnosis. She has published 28 research papers in international journals including Anal. Chem.,Chem. Commun.,ACS Sens., and J. Am. Chem. Soc.. She is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China for young scholars (Grant No. 21904059). Dr. Zhai has been recognized as Overseas High-Caliber Personnel Level C from Shenzhen in 2018 and High-Level Talent (Level C) in Nanshan District of Shenzhen. She was previously awarded Chemistry Travel Awards by SCNAT and SCS from Switzerland in 2017, and also obtained the National Scholarship for Studying Abroad in 2013 and National Scholarship for Graduate Student in 2012.
