Professor School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing

Prof. Wang received his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Zhengzhou University in 1984, M.Sc. degree in Polymer Chemistry from University of Science and Technology of China in 1990 and PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2000.

Before joining SUSTech, Prof. Wang held several senior technical and management positions in research institutes and multinational corporations, including Technical Director at National Institute of Clean and Low-Carbon Energy (China), and Vice President of R&D at Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE:PKE). He has extensive experience in academic research, technology transfer, new product development and industrialization, process optimization, quality assurance and project management for polymer based composite materials. He had successfully led and fully accomplished the development, commercialization and customer qualification for several world-leading technologies and products.

Postdoc Research Opportunity

We are a new research group in the School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). We have 2 fully-funded postdoctoral fellow positions available. The successful candidate will be working in Professor Ke Wang’s research group at the Lab for Advance Electronic Materials.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a recently awarded Ph.D. degree (or will get the degree soon) in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, polymer chemistry and physics, composite materials and other related majors and have experiences in polymer based composite.

Job Description

The research area will focus on the next generation electronic composite materials, such as the formulation and manufacturing of high performance substrate materials, reliability prediction and rapid measurements, dielectric ceramics materials, etc.

The positions are available immediately for an appointment of two years with annual stipend up to RMB 335,000 RMB (~USD47,000). Successful candidates will have an opportunity to compete, based on performance and qualifications, for SUSTech Presidential fellowship, which offers a salary of RMB 415,000.
