Professor Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Ke Tang is a Professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of China. His major research interests include evolutionary computation and machine learning and has authored/co-authored more than 150 refereed publications on prestigious journals and conferences, including IEEE TEVC, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TCYB, IEEE TRO and IEEE TGRS, which received more than 7400 citations. He received the Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship in 2015 and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Outstanding Early Career Award in 2018. He is/was an Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member of the IEEE Trans. on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine, Swarm and Evolutionary Computation (Elsevier), Natural Computing (Springer) and Memetic Computing (Springer).

Ke TANG’s major research interests include evolutionary computation and machine learning and has authored/co-authored more than 150 refereed publications on prestigious journals and conferences, including IEEE TEVC, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TCYB, IEEE TRO and IEEE TGRS, which received more than 7400 citations. He received the Newton Advanced Fellowship of Royal Society in 2015, which is a very competitive fellowship offered to early career group leaders in all disciplines of science and engineering across the globe. By August 29, 2016, only 2 (including me) of the 105 recipients are from Computer Science.

In received the 2018 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Outstanding Early Career Award, which is offered to early career researchers (one per year) in the area of computational intelligence across the globe. I’m the second awardee who is from China mainland.

Ke TANG serve as the associate editor of 6 international journals, including the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation (IEEE TEVC). The impact factor of IEEE TEVC is 8.508 in 2018, which ranks the 1st among 130 journals in the “Computer Science: Artificial Intelligence” category.
