Research Associate Department of Mathematics

Chaoyu Quan is research associate at SUSTech International Center for Mathematics. In 2013, he obtained his bachelor diploma of computational mathematics from University of Science and Technology of China. In 2014, he obtained his master diploma of applied mathematics from University Paris 9. In 2017, he obtained his PhD diploma of mathematics from University Paris 6. Then, he did one-year postdoc in Sorbonne University.

In the December of 2018, Chaoyu Quan joined SUSTech. In 2019, he obtained Overseas High-Caliber Personnel in Shenzhen, Level C.

Personal Profile

Chaoyu Quan was born in Feb. 1991, in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China. He has a PhD degree of Mathematics and has obtained the award of Overseas High-Caliber Personnel in Shenzhen, Level C.

In 2013, Chaoyu Quan obtained his bachelor diploma of computational mathematics from University of Science and Technology of China. In 2014, he obtained his master diploma of applied mathematics from University Paris 9. In 2017, he obtained his PhD diploma of mathematics from University Paris 6. From November 2017 to November 2018, he did one-year postdoc in Sorbonne University. 

In the December of 2018, Chaoyu Quan joined SUSTech, as a research associate SUSTech International Center for Mathematics. So far, he has obtained two grants:
2020 – 2022 Natural Science Grant of Guangdong Province, General Program (RMB 100,000).
2020 – 2022 NSFC Grant, National Science Foundation for Young Scientists of China (RMB 250,000), No. 11901281.

The SUSTech International Center for Mathematics, officially established on February 22, 2019, is a scientific research center funded by Shenzhen Municipal Government and located in Southern University of Science and Technology. The Scientific Director is Fields Medalist Efim Zelmanov.

It aims to advance scientific research in pure mathematics as well as applied and computational mathematics in Shenzhen, the Pearl River Delta region and beyond. The Center will focus on important research fields in both pure and applied mathematics. Its primary goal is to promote the basic research in mathematics and advance interdisciplinary research of mathematics in life science, information science, engineering, and finance, etc.

The governing of the Center will be in accordance with international standards for major international mathematics centers. It provides first-class research environment for researchers and visitors alike, hosting annual thematic programs and focused research groups.
