Dr. Kai P. Law is a senior researcher specialized in biological and clinical mass spectrometry with extensive knowledge and skills in metabolomics/lipidomics and proteomics, and associated informatics. Dr. Law gained his Ph.D. from the School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham, UK, in 2008. Since then he continued his career as a postdoctoral researcher in the Clinical Science Research Institute, University of Warwick, UK; the School of Science, University of Greenwich, UK; and the Department of Biochemistry, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He was a senior experimental officer, leading the development of the Mass Spectrometry Centre, at Chongqing Medical University, before he joined SUSTech. Dr. Law has published extensively as the first and principal author. His most significant works include development of a surface assistant laser desorption/ionization technique based on nanostructured surface, an investigation of data-independent acquisition approaches for quantitative proteomics and the pathophysiology of gestational diabetes mellitus. Dr. Law currently is implementing an ion mobility mass spectrometry protocol for comprehensive analysis of archaeal lipidome, investigating their physiological changes related to changes in environmental factors, and the ecological roles of these microorganisms in marine systems.
