Dr. Wei Hong received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tsinghua University, and his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2006. Before joining SUSTech in 2018, He was an Associate Professor at Iowa State University. Dr. Hong’s research interest spans over various areas of solid mechanics.

Professor HONG Wei graduated from Harvard University in May 2006, He is an outstanding young scholar in the field of solid mechanics, especially in the direction of soft matter mechanics. More than 80 academic papers published in internationally renowned journals such as Physical Review Letters、Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of USA、Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids、Science Advances、Polymers、Macromolecules、Journal of Materials Chemistry B、Extreme Mechanics Letters、Nanoscale、Applied Physics Letters、Soft Matter、Acta Materialia. More than 500 citations per year near the past five years. He is an adjunct professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Hokkaido University, Japan.
