Research Assistant Professor Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences

Zhigang Gui, Ph.D. in Physics, joined Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Sciences as a research assistant professor from August, 2018. His research focuses on the electronic, magnetic and optical properties of emerging energy materials and complex oxides, and to assist the designs of novel functional materials through first-principles methodologies. He has more than 20 publications in international journals, including Nano Letters, Nature Communications and Physical Review Letters.

Dr. Zhigang Gui's research focuses on the electronic, magnetic and optical properties of emerging energy materials and complex oxides, and to assist the optimization and designs of novel functional materials through first-principles methodologies. Studies includes the investigations of the phase transitions, dynamical process of vortices in perovskite-type ferroelectrics, such as BaTiO3, SrTiO3, and PbTiO3, and the physical mechanism behind the magnetic phase transition in EuTiO3. Related works have been published in international journals, such as Physical Review B, Nano Letters, Nature Communications and Physical Review Letters.
