Dr. GE Qi is a tenured Associate Professor at Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering and the 15th batch of state specially invited experts (youth) from the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.Dr. Ge received his Bacholar Degree on Engneering Mechancis from Tongji University in 2006, Master Degree on Solid Mechanics from Zhejiang University in 2008, and Ph.D. on Mechanical Engineering from University of Colorado at Boulder, USA in 2012. Dr. Ge was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2014, and Assistant Professor at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) from 2016 to 2019. During the time at SUTD, Dr. Ge led and participated in more than 10 research projects, and was directly awarded more 3.5 million Singapore dollar (about 18 million RMB) research funds. Dr. Ge’s research interests mainly include 4D printing, functional 3D printing, mechanics of soft materials, soft robotics, flexible electronics and many others.

Dr. Ge is also the member of review board of a few journals such as Polymers and Micromachanies, and he has been serving a long time reviewer for prestigious journal such as Nature, Nature Communication, Science Advances, Nano Letter, JMPS.

During my doctoral study, I was mainly engaged in mechanical experiments and theoretical modeling research of Soft Active Materials (SAMs). My doctoral thesis was awarded as excellent doctoral thesis by the university of Colorado.In postdoctoral work phase, based on the relationship between structure and mechanical behavior of polymer chemistry deep understanding, through the optimization of polymer end group functional groups and chemical structure successfully curing light, high precision of 3 d printing technology is applied to the preparation of intelligent soft material structure, is among the first scholars to research on 4 d printing work.Functional Additive Manufacturing is currently focused on the development of Functional Additive Manufacturing as a flexible, electrically conductive, water-soluble, self-repairing, recyclable and other multi-functional photosensitive resin 3D printing materials to achieve Functional Additive Manufacturing.

Research assistant professorship

Recruitment requirements:

1) have obtained a doctoral degree in materials, mechanics, mechanics or related fields;
