Associate professor Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Dr Rodin received his PhD from the school of electronics and electrical engineering, nanyang technological university, Singapore in July 2012. In May 2013, I joined the department of electronics and electrical engineering of southern university of science and technology as an assistant professor. From November 2018 to now, I have been an associate professor (permanent appointment) of the department of electronics and electrical engineering. For a long time engaged in tunable liquid crystal lasers, blue phase liquid crystal, light oriented materials, new reflective liquid crystal display devices, tunable liquid crystal photonic/terahertz devices, liquid crystal smart Windows and liquid crystal brakes related research work. More than 80 papers have been published in Science Advances, Advanced Optical Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry C, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Express, etc., with a total of 900 citations, H factor 17, 11 patents and 4 licenses. Awarded the "otto lehmann prize" (the world's only winner of the year) by the university of technology karlsruhe in Germany in 2011; 2011 national excellent self-funded international student award; 2012 international society of optical engineering optical photonics scholarship; 2012 graduate award of international institute of electronic and electrical engineering (annual global 10 winners); 2016 excellent tutor award of southern university of science and technology; 2017 south university of science and technology youth research award; 2017 excellent teaching award of southern university of science and technology; Awarded the title of advanced educator of shenzhen in 2018. It was selected into the 2013 "peacock plan" (category B) for overseas high-level talents in shenzhen. Leading the peacock talent project launch scientific research projects, surface, youth science fund project of national natural science fund, the ministry of education scientific research funding, returned people basic research project of shenzhen, the shenzhen subject project layout, TCL enterprise project, the south fund, hkust campus undergraduate course colleges and universities in guangdong province higher education teaching reform project such as 10, as members of the core part of the national key research project corpus, the national natural science fund project, shenzhen peacock team, shenzhen four disciplines layout project.
