Dr. Hemi Luan got his PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University, supervised by Prof. Zongwei Cai. He joined Southern University of Science and Technology in 2018. His work has yields about 12 first-author peer-reviewed papers with the total impact factors 47.896, citation times 894 and H-index 14 according to the Google Scholar. Several major publications were on the journals of Mass Spectrom Rev, Bioinformatics, Gigascience, J Proteome Res, Analytica Chimica Acta and PNAS, etc. He has also obtained funding for two research projects, including NSFC and Education Science Program of Shenzhen.

Personal Profile


My research interests focus on Complex Chronic Disease (Parkinson disease, obesity, tumour) and Omics. By applying biomedical mass spectrometry, in combination with the metabolomics and proteomics, we will quantitatively explain the metabolism, build the predictive AI models the Complex Chronic Disease, and discover the novel drug targets.
