assistant professor/Associate researcher/PhD Tutor School of Medicine
Dr. Fu, Assistant Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Research Team Leader, Southern University of Science and Technology
In 2005, he obtained a bachelor's degree in bioengineering from Jiangnan University. In 2013, he received a Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics from Harvard University and Nankai University. Among them, Fogarty Global Health Fellowship (Harvard University School of Public Health) in 2008, and a full scholarship from Harvard Medical School in 2009-2013, under the supervision of Professor John Mekalanos of the American Academy of Sciences. From 2013 to 2018, he continued his postdoctoral research in the Department of Microbiology and Immunobiology, Harvard Medical School. The coordinator was Mekalanos Fellow; from 2018 to 2019, he was an assistant researcher in the Department of Microbiology at Harvard Medical School; in July 2019, he joined the South University of Science and Technology. .
Dr. Fu has been engaged in research on intestinal pathogens and symbiotic bacteria for a long time before returning to China. He has achieved a series of landmarks around the pathogenesis of intestinal bacteria, bacterial secretion system, mechanism of interaction between bacteria in the host, and host immune activation. Results. In recent years, he has published 8 research papers in well-known journals such as Cell Host & Microbe, Science Translational Medicine, Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, Journal of Immunology, and has served as a reviewer for many well-known journals for a long time.
Fu Wei's research group uses microbiology, molecular genetics, systems biology and bioinformatics to study bacterial intraspecific/species interactions, bacterial-host interactions, intestinal microecological disorders, and pathogenic pathogens of intestinal pathogens. And a new generation of antibacterial treatment methods, microbial regulation interventions for chronic severe diseases.
Dr. Fu is an assistant professor of SUSTech. He is a young scholar in the field of microbiology, especially pathogenic microorganisms. In 2013, he received a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Nankai University. Since September 2009, he has been a Ph.D. student in the world-renowned Department of Microbiology and Immunobiology at Harvard Medical School. He is a Ph.D. student and a postdoctoral researcher. ten years. Dr. Fu is mainly engaged in infectious disease pathogenic biology, bacterial type VI secretion system, intestinal pathogen-host-symbiotic microbial group multi-component interaction, anti-infective treatment and new vaccine research. Over the years, I have accumulated rich experience through solid work and achieved fruitful results. In the past five years, he has published 8 papers in international authoritative academic journals such as Cell Host & Microbe, Science Translational Medicine, P. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, Journal of Immunology and Vaccine. The first author and correspondent authors include 4 papers, including two. Cell Host & Microbe and a PNAS. His work has been reported by many media at home and abroad. He has been invited to publish many important academic conference reports and won the Fogarty Global Health Fellowship Award. He is the editor of Bio-Protocol magazine, Molecular Medicine Reports, and reviewer of many well-known scientific journals of mBio. During his work in the United States, he participated in a number of major scientific research projects of the National Institutes of Health, including important factors such as the pathogens of enteric pathogens and genetics, innovative research and platform development of new antibacterial therapies and vaccine development.
Dr. Fu is mainly engaged in the research of intestinal pathogens and symbiotic bacteria, the new mechanism of pathogenicity of intestinal bacteria, the in vivo function and transformation of bacterial secretion system, the mechanism of interaction between bacteria in the host, and the activation of host immune system.
