The undergraduate team of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUST) supervised by Professor Wei Hong won the third prize of the first China Commercial Aircraft 3D Printing Structure Optimization Design Competition
On November 7, 2018, the winners of the "First China Commercial Aircraft 3D Printing Structure Optimization Design Competition" were announced at the 2nd International Conference on Future Civil Aircraft Development. The team composed of Yazhuo Liu, Hao Qi, Qingshuang Lu and Chengyu Huang, the second-year undergraduate students of Southern University of Science and Technology, stood out from the competition with universities, enterprises, research institutes and other institutions at home and abroad by virtue of the topology optimization design plan, and won the third prize of the competition.
China Academy of Engineering Academician Guanghui Wu, General Manager of Airbus (Beijing) Engineering Technology Center, Michel M TRAN VAN and other guests attended the event and took photos with the winners. The instructor of the team is Professor Wei Hong and Research Assistant Professor Hao Wang both from the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering. During the project design process, it also received instructions and supports from the dean of the department, Xiaowen Shan.
