Dr. Chongxuan Liu is a Chair Professor in environmental geochemistry and biogeochemistry at Southern University of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D degree in Environmental Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on the multi-scale kinetics of the transformation, degradation and transport of contaminants in groundwater and soil systems; the coupled evolution of microbial community and biogeochemical processes; and the technologies for remediating contaminants in soil and groundwater systems, and the synthesis of engineered materials for extracting heavy metals from wastewater.
